The Indian cricket team’s historic victory over South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final came with hefty price money. Soon after the victory, Jay Shah, the president of BCCI, announced a price money of 125 crores.
This amount will be distributed among the 42 people who have travelled to the United States of America and the West Indies for the tournament. This number includes the 15 first-team players, support staff, and reserves.

However, the price will not be distributed equally among all the players. The amount each person receives will vary according to their role.
Reports from Indian Express suggest that the 15-member Indian team squad will receive a handsome total of 5 crores each. This includes those players who didn’t play a single game in the whole tournament. Even the head coach, Rahul Dravid, will be part of this pool.
However, his coaching staff, which includes batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, will all receive 2.5 crores. Furthermore, one crore each will be distributed among the selection committee members, including the chief selector, Ajit Agarkar.
Coming to the support staff of the Indian team, a total of 7 players, including the three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, two masseurs, and the strength and conditioning coach, will all receive two crore each.
A BCCI source, in conversation with the newspaper, said, “Players and support staff have been informed about the amount of prize money they will be receiving from the BCCI, and we have asked everyone to submit an invoice.”
In addition, the reserve players who travelled to the tournament but didn’t make the 15-man squad will receive a total of 1 crore each.
