The behaviour was so caustic that the broadcaster couldn’t hold himself back. When the crowd was booing the captain and chanting the name of “Rohit” at the Wankhede Stadium, Manjrekar couldn’t seem to hold himself back.
“Behave,” said the broadcaster when the crowd seemed to have reached its limit in showing their dismay at the newly appointed captain of the Mumbai Indians side.
Earlier, Hardik Pandya was also booed by the Ahmedabad crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where he lifted the 2022 IPL title for the Gujarat Titans side. Even some fans dared use casteist slurs for him.

According to the team management, this move was made with the franchise’s future in mind. However, it has backfired in many ways.
First of all, the fans were not happy with the swift change in captaincy. They felt that it was disrespectful of the franchise to dispose of their captain in such a manner.
