Gujarat Titans’ promising wicketkeeper-batter, Robin Minz, encountered an unfortunate bike accident in Ranchi and is presently under observation for injuries sustained. The incident occurred as Minz was riding his Kawasaki superbike, colliding with another bike, resulting in bruises on his right knee and significant damage to the front part of his bike.
Accident Details
According to reports, Minz lost control of his bike upon contact with another vehicle. While the accident caused bruises to his right knee and inflicted severe damage to his bike’s front portion, fortunately, Minz’s injuries are not deemed severe at present, and he remains under observation.
Last year, Robin Minz made history by becoming the first player from the Adivasi community to secure a spot in the IPL, courtesy of Gujarat Titans, who acquired him for Rs 3.6 crore in the player auction. Known for his cricketing prowess, Minz recently showcased his talent by scoring an impressive 137 for Jharkhand in the U23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy quarter-final against Karnataka.
Path to Recovery
As Minz recuperates from the accident, it remains uncertain whether there will be any delay in his participation in the Titans’ pre-season camp ahead of IPL 2024. Coached by esteemed mentors, including Chanchal Bhattacharya, Asif Haque, and SP Gautam at the Sonnet Cricket Club in Ranchi, Minz has made strides in his cricketing journey.
In a heartwarming gesture, Gujarat Titans’ skipper Shubman Gill and other national team members recently visited Francis Minz, Robin’s father, at the Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi. This visit came after India’s triumphant five-wicket victory over England in the fourth Test, showcasing solidarity and camaraderie among teammates.
As Robin Minz focuses on recovery, the cricketing fraternity wishes him a speedy recovery and looks forward to witnessing his talent shine on the field again.
