Pakistan cricket has suffered a setback as star wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan has been ruled out of the final two T20Is against New Zealand due to an injury sustained during the third match of the series. Rizwan suffered the injury while batting and was forced to retire hurt, missing the remainder of the game.

Mohammad Rizwan’s Injury and PCB Statement

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a statement confirming Rizwan’s injury and the decision to rule him out of the last two T20Is. After reviewing the radiology reports of Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan, the PCB Medical Panel decided to rest the two players and focus on their rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

“PCB Medical Panel yesterday received Radiology reports of Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan. After reviewing the reports and in consultation with the Pakistan team management, it has been decided to rest the two players from Thursday’s and Saturday’s T20Is against New Zealand,” the PCB stated.

Rizwan’s absence will likely impact Pakistan’s performance, given his key role as a wicketkeeper-batter. His experience and skills in handling pressure situations could have been invaluable in the series’ final two games.
