During the 17th over of RR’s innings, as Sanju Samson was at the crease, a spectator in the stands became visibly emotional after Samson struck a six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The fan’s excitement led him to jump over the railing and briefly encroach onto the field, causing a momentary disruption in play and drawing attention from players and officials alike.

Following the incident, Parth Jindal, the co-owner of RR, voiced his disappointment and concern for player safety via social media. He tweeted, “Disappointed with fans behaviour today at @rajasthanroyals match. Safety of players is paramount.” This stance drew criticism from some quarters who felt Jindal’s response was overly severe, arguing that such occurrences were not uncommon in cricket matches.

Conversely, Sanju Samson offered a more optimistic perspective during an interview with Star Sports after the match. He remarked, “I think it’s great when fans get involved in the game like that. It shows their passion for cricket.” Samson also noted that such incidents were rare and commended the overall good behaviour of fans during matches.

The divergent reactions from Parth Jindal and Sanju Samson underscore the varied viewpoints on fan conduct during cricket encounters. While some perceive such actions as disruptive or potentially hazardous, others interpret them as manifestations of enthusiasm and devotion for the sport.
