Everyone who watches IPL knows the rivalry the RCB and KKR share. The fixture is often recommended as the “El Primero,” the first game, was the very first game in the history of IPL. And nobody will forget that game in a hurry.
Since then, both teams have clashed on various occasions, spawning a heated rivalry. However, in recent years, certain players’ presence in the respective teams’ dugouts has made it even more interesting.
One such player is Gautam Gambhir. The former Indian opener and captain of KKR has been very open about his feelings towards the RCB-KKR rivalry.
Ahead of the 2024 clash between the two teams, the official broadcasters shared an old video of Gautam Gambhir speaking his mind out on the rivalry. In the video, he can be heard saying, “One team which I wanted to beat every time, probably even in my dreams, was RCB. Probably the second-most high profile team, flamboyant team with the owner and probably the squad – Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers. Honestly not won anything, still thought they won everything. That kind of attitude. I can’t take that. Probably the three best wins that KKR ever had was against RCB.”
